The approach

“Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same.”

Emily Brontë · Wuthering Heights

I photograph elopements for couples who’d rather say it out loud with nobody watching — the rebels, the history lovers and the ones who want a pint in a quiet pub instead of a top table. Candid, unposed and true to life, with all of the feeling left in.

I take on a small number of elopements each year, so there’s proper time for you: the Zoom calls, the location hunting, the panicked texts about whether February in Kerry will be miserable. It won’t be. By the day itself it feels like I’m photographing my friends.

Couple sessions

No vows required.

Not everyone is eloping — some of you just want the two of you on a cliff at golden hour. Engaged, married years ago, over on holiday or simply mad about each other: a couple session is ninety minutes of walking, laughing and being photographed while you forget I’m there.

I’ll pick the location, watch the weather and bring the bad dad jokes.

Kind words · five star reviews

“Sarah Kate was an absolute gem to work with. Her personality and very caring demeanour made our day even more special than we could have dreamed — and that's before we mention how phenomenal her photography is.”
Brooke · Google review
“She was bubbly, funny and relaxed. We'd only met her ten minutes before our shoot, but we immediately felt like we'd known her for years.”
Alyssa & Joe
“I didn't realise how much time we'd spend with our photographer. Sarah Kate was fun, always good for a laugh, and just good to be around.”

Sarah Kate, Cork elopement photographer

Hello, I’m Sarah Kate

Happiest near wild seas and heather-covered mountains.

A Cork girl with a passion for Irish history, wildlife and love stories. Socially awkward, mildly charismatic and daft as a brush. I collect books to rest my coffee cups on, I’m terrified of heights, and I still go hiking.

Photography has been my solace — a place where I switch off and get lost in a moment. Even without my own happy ending, I’m a die-hard romantic. That’s why I adore this job.

2028 dates are now open

Most elopements book six to twelve months ahead.

So if you’re tempted, don’t dither. Bank holidays go first. Tell me your date, your people and the bit of Ireland you want to say it in — or ask me to help you choose it.
